This country is desperately sick, and man is on the critical list. - Fannie Lou Hamer

It feels like her words are always right on time.

If you need some tender loving care right now, here is a song for your spirit while you read below.

When we are gaslit by toxic authorities telling us what we are seeing isn’t real, we go inward to remember that we know what we know.

We are living in a time of revolution. It may look dark, but Light Leaders know there is more possibility for justice and truth when the shadow is exposed.

In this video essay, called We Need Light Leaders, I talk about what I believe about Light Leadership.

This is the kind of leadership that works with unseen beyond cognitive intelligence. If you are in the land called North America, you are likely experiencing confusion and disequilibrium based on the lies and cognitive dissonance of toxic authoritative leadership. This is not new.

This experience is OLD.

Old white men, controlling liars, forces of patriarchal might and destruction are being exposed as America reaches the zenith of its values reformation.

It is time for rebirth, yall.

You are not confused. You know what you know.

Yes. These institutions of empire and settler colonial control have exploited and extracted resources from Black and Indigenous bodies and lands for centuries.

You know this election isn’t just bad for America. You know this form of leadership was never about truth and justice. So it is not news when headlines say you have a choice between voting for a liar OR a muppet. You know these are not real choices.

You know that choice is created from within.

This is the wisdom that Fannie Lou Hamer teaches us.

What a time it is to be embodied!

In these bodies we are able to connect with a wisdom that exists beyond cognitive intelligence and the material world.

In these bodies, we can access skills for living beyond survival.

In right relationship with our bodies, earth and spirit, we find truth and abundant choices even when it seems like we have nothing but bad choices.

It’s time for new leadership.

It’s time for Light Leadership

I follow Fannie Lou Hamer as a guide for light leadership.

In the summer of 1964, this is what Fannie Lou Hamer did. This is how she showed up at the whack-ass Democratic Convention in Atlantic City and told her truth of America when the pundits and politicians tried to silence dissent.

The whack-ass old white man President of the day tried to silence her. Mississippi terrorists dressed as police, politicians and doctors tried to break her body and her dignity.

They would not win. She died just shy of 60 years young. While her earthly time may have been short, her spiritual evolution and revolutionary embodiment would change the course of history.

This summer in Freedom Summer School, we will engage in spiritual somatic practices and nervous system care that allows us to trust ourselves more than capitalist capture. This is how we access choices that don’t seem available to us.

As the world looks to the election of November 2024 for the future of Democracy, let us look back to August 1964 for some divine guidance for the healing of humanity.
